$222 towards $10,000

The Circle of Sisterhood Foundation is dedicated to removing the barriers preventing girls and women from receiving an education. With education as a powerful tool for change, the foundation works to create opportunities for women to make a difference in their community.

At NC State University, our CofS chapter is focused on raising $10,000 to fund an educational grant.

In 2025, we successfully funded a $10,000 grant for Kakenya's Dream. Together, we supported the holistic education of 203 Kenyan girls in grades 7–12 at an all-girls’ boarding high school, where health and leadership development are integrated with STEM, arts and culture, and critical thinking. This program not only equips students with essential skills but also protects them from female genital mutilation and child marriage—breaking intergenerational cycles of poverty and gender discrimination.

A little bit of money goes a long way in some parts of the world. These are average costs across several underdeveloped countries:

  • $0.24 can buy a notebook and a pencil.
  • $3.30 can buy a noon meal for one student for an entire school year.
  • $7 can buy a set of textbooks.
  • $13 can pay a full year’s tuition.
  • $29 can buy a complete school uniform.

= $53, a full year of schooling with everything she needs: tuition, books, uniform, and school lunch every day.

We can not wait to continue this progress in 2026, please help us get there today.
